About SUSHEAS

High Entropy Alloys (HEAs) represent a transformative class of advanced materials with exceptional mechanical, thermal, and corrosion-resistant properties, offering vast potential across industries such as aerospace, automotive, marine, and biomedical engineering. However, current HEA production relies heavily on virgin raw materials, resulting in energy-intensive processes and significant environmental impact.
With the support of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Staff Exchanges programme, the SUSHEAS project envisions a paradigm shift in alloy manufacturing by enabling the sustainable production of HEAs from secondary metal sources, including metal scraps and reclaimed materials. By integrating advanced computational tools such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and CALPHAD modeling with innovative metallurgical processing techniques, SUSHEAS aims to optimize alloy design while addressing challenges related to impurities and material variability.
The project aspires to establish resource-efficient, low-impact production pathways that contribute to a circular economy in the metallurgical sector. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, international mobility, and cross-sectoral knowledge exchange between academia and industry, SUSHEAS will foster a new generation of researchers and innovators equipped to tackle global sustainability challenges.
Ultimately, SUSHEAS seeks to advance the frontiers of materials science by demonstrating that high-performance alloys can be produced sustainably, bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and industrial application while supporting a greener and more resilient future.
